How our comparisons work
HowDoICompare.co.uk creates simple snapshots showing how businesses compare with other businesses analysed in the same local market.
What does “position” mean?
Where we show a position such as “23rd by review count among 100 businesses analysed”, the businesses in that comparison have been ordered by the number of Google reviews recorded in our dataset at the time of the analysis.
Top 10 review-count threshold
Some reports show the review count of the business currently in 10th position by review count. We use this as a comparison point only. A gap to that threshold does not mean that gaining that number of reviews would produce a Top 10 Google ranking.
Median reviews
The median is the middle review count in the analysed group when businesses are ordered by review count. It provides a simple local benchmark that is less affected by a small number of businesses with exceptionally high review counts.
Where the information comes from
Our local market snapshots are compiled from business listing data available at the time of collection. Information can change after a comparison has been produced, including review counts, ratings, websites and business details.
What the reports are for
The reports are intended to provide an easy-to-understand comparison snapshot. They are not an endorsement, recommendation or assessment of the quality of a business, and a higher review count does not by itself mean that one business provides a better service than another.
Corrections
If you represent a business shown on HowDoICompare.co.uk and believe information in a report is incorrect, please contact us with the business name and report URL so we can review it.
